    Self catering cottage in Devon

Dart Cottage  You’ll find our delightful, Georgian, listed cottage near the bottom of Manor Street in the tranquil village of Dittisham, with its abundance of colour-washed cottages and beautiful gardens. Overlooking the majestic Dart River, it is undoubtedly the most characterful street in the village and it ends at the Quay.

Passenger ferries will take you to Greenway (of Agatha Christie fame), Totnes and Dartmouth. The Ferryboat Inn and Anchorstone Cafe at the bottom of the street will tempt you with delicious locally sourced food and sweeping river views.

Just 60 metres from the quay is the cottage, which has been in our family for more than 20 years.

Open the front door and you will discover why we have spent so many restful holidays here at all times of the year! A light and cosy sitting room will provide you with a relaxing place to sit, while reflecting on the day you have spent, whether it be walking, sailing, visiting one of the many National Trust properties in the area or just sitting on the quay watching the tide go in and out.

The compact kitchen is well equipped with electric cooker, toaster and microwave. There are also views of a wide sweep of the river.

Through the kitchen you will find the shower room, with basin W.C. and heated towel rail.

Our cottage has 3 bedrooms upstairs; two double bedded rooms with views of neighbouring gardens and further views of the river, plus a small bunk bedded room for small children. On the landing is a separate W.C with small washbasin and a beautiful window.

The cottage has many interesting features, including some attractive prints and pictures. There are books, DVDs and videos for you enjoy, and plenty of information on what you can do in the area.

There is a Post Office and shop situated in the Red Lion Pub at the top of the village. A beautiful church overlooks a further bend in the river. There are two car parks about 300 metres away.

Dogs are welcome, although we would of course ask you to leave the cottage as you find it.
